Which of these is not suggested for writing a resume?

The initial qualifying round requires strong resume writing. To accomplish this, avoid including the following on your resume:

  • Career objectives.

Summarizing your objectives is redundant since everyone knows you want the job. Unless you are switching your career path, a job-related objective summary will not help much.

  • Irrelevant experiences.

Let’s say you have become a latte expert after a long part-time job as a student. If you do not enter the coffee industry, you should not mention working at a coffee shop in the experience section. It will be a better fit for personal information.

  • Personal information.

Do not include information such as marital status, religion, or national identity card number (if you are applying for a US company). Moreover, it is best not to include your date of birth or spells in your resume writing.

  • Interests.

It is still controversial whether to put hobbies and interests in resume writing. Some recruiters do not care about your personal life, while others love it. Overall, no matter how interesting they are, your interests should never sit at the top of a resume.

  • Current company phone number or email address.

Grasp all, lose all. What would happen if your boss received an email inviting you for an interview with another company? Outside of your LinkedIn profile, you should leave information unrelated to the profession off your resume.

  • Too much previous work experience.

It is 2022, only list occupations you have held since 2016 or later if you are looking for a job. Reading from 2016 or earlier may put off the hiring manager.
