How to write an ad copy?

18 February 2023 By papmall®

There are many types of ad copy out there, and since each type serves different purposes on different platforms, the standards and requirements for every type are also not the same. Therefore, the first thing an advertising copywriter will do when receiving the job is to figure out what types of ad copy it is, and on which platform it will be displayed.

Basically, some main steps of writing an ad copy service will look like this:

    1. Figure out the main goals of the ad copy: Is it to build brand awareness, communicate with the audience, promote a campaign, introduce a product or service, or collect customers’ information, etc?
    2. Determine the channel/platform it will be displayed on: Different platforms have different terms, policies, rules, supporting services, and more importantly, a unique group of audiences. Therefore, deciding on which platforms to launch your posts on is also deciding on the types and content of your ads.
    3. Determine the target audience: Each group of the audience has its own ways of observing, digesting, and deciding on its purchase decision. Figure out your audience and use your language to approach them more effectively.
  • Research and decide on the types of ad copy that can be the most effective to achieve your goal.
  1. Write your ad copy: Write it in the consideration of all the above matters and gather feedback from those who have enough experience to qualify it. Remember to focus on the benefits of your offerings and make your ad copy as clear, concise, and helpful as possible.
  2. Launch your ad copy: Make a plan to post it on the platform while measuring the relevant metrics and keeping it under observation for any further adjustment.
