The four types of safety signs are:

Prohibition Signs: Prohibition signs, or often called danger signs, are meant to forbid people from doing something or to tell them not to do it. Since the red color tends to make people stay alert, it is used as the main theme of these signs. Additionally, most of the signs are designed in the round shape and often include a red diagonal line and the black pictogram. Examples of this type are: No smoking, No trespassing, No parking, etc.

Mandatory Signs: Mandatory signs are meant to give people guidance, instruction, or advice on doing something. These signs are designed with the main color of blue, with the details in white. Examples of this type are: signs give protection information at the construction site, gas station signs, etc.

Warning Signs: As it is called, warning signs are meant to help you be aware of the dangers ahead, and your next step is to put those warnings in consideration and take a more careful decision right after. Warning signs are designed with the main color of yellow, together with the black pictogram. Examples of this type are: Caution wet floor, Caution hot water, High voltage, etc.

Safe Condition Signs: Safe Condition Signs are there to give you instruction on how to be safe in a place or out of a situation. These signs are designed with the main color of green together with the while pictograms. Examples of this type are: Fire exit, First aid, assembly point, etc.

Besides these 4 main types, there is one more type that is known as Fire Equipment Signs. Fire Equipment Signs help you locate the fire equipment. These signs are also designed with the red color, but instead of the round shape, they are square or rectangular with the pictogram in white.
